Senators
In keeping with the bylaws and policies of the Georgia Board of Regents, the University Senate exercises legislative functions dealing with the general educational policy of Georgia State University, the discipline of students, and all other student activities and affairs, including all matters where the university president determines there is a need for uniform policy throughout the university. The University Senate includes 15 staff senators, elected by the Staff Council. Elected staff senators serve two year terms. The council chair and vice chair are automatically appointed to the senate for one-year terms.
